Showing and hiding sections

Every homepage section can be switched off. How to do it, and which sections are worth hiding when you are new.

You do not have to show every section. Each one carries its own switch, so you can turn off anything that does not suit your business or that you have nothing to put in yet.

#Turning a section off

  1. 1

Go to Tenant Settings → Theme → Edit Settings.

  2. 2

    Open the Home Page tab.

  3. 3

Expand the section you want to hide.

  4. 4

Turn off Show this section on the site.

The toggle sits inside the section itself, there is no separate visibility screen listing them all.

  5. 5

    Check the preview, then Publish.

The switch is per section, inside that section

If you are looking for one screen with a list of on/off switches, there is not one. Each section owns its own toggle, so you turn it off from the same place you would edit it.

#What to hide, and when

SectionConsider hiding it when
Explore HomesYou serve one town, a row of city tiles all saying the same place looks thin
Trending PropertiesYour MLS import has not finished, or your market is quiet. An empty or stale strip is worse than no strip
Search by TypeYou specialise narrowly, property-type filters make sense for a general practice, less so if you only do luxury condos
Three-step carouselYou have not written the steps or have no images for them yet
Why work with usRarely. This is usually the strongest section on the page
Hiding is reversible and costs nothing

Turning a section off keeps its content. Switch it back on later and everything you wrote is still there, so hiding a half-finished section while you work on it is a perfectly good move.

#What fills these sections automatically

Three sections populate themselves from the service areas you gave in your questionnaire, rather than from anything you type here:

SectionFilled with
Explore HomesThe cities you said you serve
Search by TypeProperty results from those cities
Trending PropertiesActive listings in those cities, highest price first
Wrong towns showing?

That is your service areas answer, not this screen. Fixing it means updating your service areas, see The About You questions.
