The audience is who walks through the sequence. Build it from individuals, contact lists or tags, see Choosing who gets it.
#Adding people after it has started
You can grow an audience mid-campaign. New contacts join at the current step and do not receive the steps that already went out.
| Campaign type | When a late joiner receives their next email |
|---|---|
| Relative | Aligned with the next scheduled send for the existing audience, not all at once |
| Event-based | Calculated from the event date, including any before-event offsets |
#Start from step
When adding contacts you can choose which step they enter at, rather than accepting the default.
| Campaign | Default entry point |
|---|---|
| Standard | Step 1 |
| Event-based | The step that makes sense for how close the date is |
You get a confirmation step, and a message telling you how many contacts were added and where they will begin.
#Seeing where everyone is
The audience table has a Current Step column and a step filter, so you can see who is mid-sequence, who has finished, and who is stuck, and combine that with search.
#Who will not receive it
Some selected contacts will be skipped, and the audience view labels them: Daily limit, In another campaign, Opted out, Recent bounce. Check before you start, see The pre-flight check.
This is the most common reason a campaign reaches far fewer people than expected. See One campaign per contact.
