Thirteen presets ship ready to use, in three categories. Each is a switch, turn it on and it starts watching. You can edit the email it sends.
#Property triggers
| Trigger | Fires when |
|---|---|
| Saved Search Match | A new listing matches criteria a client saved on your site |
| Favorite Property Price Change | A home someone favourited changes price, up or down |
| Favorite Property Status Change | A favourited home changes MLS status |
| Listing Stage Change | One of your listings moves to a different stage |
| Days on Market Milestone | A property passes a days-on-market mark you set |
Saved Search Match and Favorite Property Price Change are the highest-value triggers on the list. Both fire on something the client explicitly told you they cared about, which is why they get opened.
#Contact triggers
| Trigger | Fires when |
|---|---|
| Welcome Email | A new account is created on your site |
| Birthday Wishes | A contact's birthday, sent at 9:00 AM Eastern |
| Home Purchase Anniversary | The anniversary of a client's purchase |
This only fires for contacts who actually have a birthdate on file. If you imported without one, it will sit there doing nothing. The bulk importer clears unparseable dates rather than guessing, see What the importer fixes for you.
#Workflow triggers
| Trigger | Fires when |
|---|---|
| Opportunity Stage Change | A deal moves stage |
| Deal Closed – Won | A deal is marked won |
| Deal Closed – Lost | A deal is marked lost |
| Closing Date Reminder | A closing date is approaching |
| Settlement Date Reminder | A settlement date is approaching, 14 days before by default |
#Switching one on
- 1
Open Triggers in the left-hand navigation.
- 2
Find the preset in the list.
- 3
Switch it on.
- 4
Optionally edit the email it sends.
Editing a system template saves a private copy for your account, the original stays intact as a fallback. See Templates.
#Editing the email
Every preset ships with a written template. You can rewrite it, and Preview shows it filled with sample data so you can see what a recipient gets before anyone receives one.
Your changes are saved as a private copy. The shipped version stays untouched underneath, so a rewrite you regret is recoverable.
#A sensible starting set
- Saved Search Match, the single most useful one.
- Favorite Property Price Change, a price cut on a home they already liked is the easiest conversation you will have.
- Welcome Email, first impression, and it costs nothing.
- Closing Date Reminder, stops a date being missed.
Leave the rest off until you want them. Every trigger you enable is email your contacts receive, and the daily cap means an over-eager set competes with your campaigns.
