Searching with the map

The map re-scopes a search to what is on screen, and one click restores the place that was typed.

The sentence says what a visitor wants; the map says where. Dragging or zooming re-runs the search for exactly the visible area.

#Getting back to a typed place

When the map displaces a place a visitor typed, a labelled control appears, "Search Greensboro instead", restoring the search as written. One click, no retyping.

Why this matters for you

Search that loses someone’s place is search they abandon. The map behaving predictably is a large part of why visitors keep browsing, and browsing is what produces the favourites and saved searches your triggers run on.
