Connecting your own domain

Putting your site on your own web address instead of the free EasyDigz one, including where to buy a domain if you do not have one.

Every account gets a free EasyDigz web address immediately. Connecting your own domain is optional, and it is worth doing, it is your brand, and it carries more weight with search engines and AI assistants than a subdomain.

#Where to do it

Two places, same result: the Domain step of the setup wizard, or Tenant Settings → Custom Domain at any time afterwards.

#Connecting one

  1. 1

Open the Domain step, or Tenant Settings → Custom Domain.

  2. 2

Enter the domain you own, for example yourname.com.

  3. 3

    Submit it.

You get a confirmation on screen and an email containing the actual DNS records to add. The screen itself does not list them, the email is where the instructions live.

  4. 4

Add those records at your domain registrar.

Wherever you bought the domain, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains. If someone else manages your DNS, forward them the email.

  5. 5

    Wait.

DNS changes take time to spread. Up to 48 hours, though usually much less.

The setup email is the important artefact

Do not close the confirmation expecting the records to be on screen. They arrive by email. If you cannot find it, check spam before raising a support request.

#If you do not own a domain yet

The Domain step has a "Don't have a domain? Buy one on GoDaddy" link that opens a domain search in a new tab. You do not have to use GoDaddy, any registrar works. Buy it, then come back and enter it.

#Once it is connected

The card locks after you submit

Once a domain is connected, the fields on that card are replaced by a read-only "Connected" line. You cannot re-edit it from the wizard. Changing it afterwards is done from Tenant Settings.

#Skipping it

You can skip the Domain step, but only while you still have something outstanding. Once both your custom domain and your branded email are done, the skip option disappears and a Continue button takes its place.

#Domain and email are two different things

This page is about the web address your site is served from. Sending email from that domain is a separate setup with its own DNS records, and it is the one that gates your campaigns. See Email setup.
