The audience is who walks through the sequence. Build it from individuals, contact lists or tags, see Choosing who gets it.
#Adding people after it has started
You can grow an audience mid-campaign. New contacts join at the current step and do not receive the steps that already went out.
| Campaign type | When a late joiner receives their next email |
|---|---|
| Relative | Aligned with the next scheduled send for the existing audience, not all at once |
| Event-based | Calculated from the event date, including any before-event offsets |
#Start from step
When adding contacts you can choose which step they enter at, rather than accepting the default.
| Campaign | Default entry point |
|---|---|
| Standard | Step 1 |
| Event-based | The step that makes sense for how close the date is |
You get a confirmation step, and a message telling you how many contacts were added and where they will begin.
#Seeing where everyone is
The audience table has a Current Step column and a step filter, so you can see who is mid-sequence, who has finished, and who is stuck, and combine that with search.
#Who will not receive it
Some selected contacts will be skipped, and the audience view labels them: Daily limit, In another campaign, Opted out, Recent bounce. Check before you start, see The pre-flight check.
Within a running campaign, each step's recipient list shows Opted out next to everyone who unsubscribed, and next to anyone whose email bounced or was blocked. Nobody else carries the label. Opted-out contacts stay listed so you can see who they are, and are skipped on every later step.
#People already in another campaign
Contacts already in another active or paused drip are flagged In another campaign. When you add them, a pop-up shows how many there are and which campaigns they are in, and you choose Enroll in both (the default), Move here or Skip. See Contacts in more than one campaign.
Select all on the Audience tab selects every contact across all pages, not just the current one, so you can clear or remove a large audience in one step.
