The pre-flight card sits at the top of the Audience tab and answers the only question that matters before you press Start: of the people selected, how many will actually get this?
#What it shows
| Figure | Means |
|---|---|
| Total contacts | How many are on the audience |
| Will receive | How many will actually get the email |
| Skipped, by reason | The gap between those two, broken down |
| Daily cap note | A reminder that the cap counts emails from all your campaigns combined |
| Capped today | A warning listing contacts who have already had two marketing emails from you in the last 24 hours |
A campaign showing 400 contacts and 120 receiving is not broken, it is telling you something before you find out from the analytics a week later.
#Reading the gap
| Skip reason | Means | Worth doing |
|---|---|---|
| In another campaign | Also in another active or paused drip | Decide early: Enroll in both, Move here or Skip |
| Opted out | Unsubscribed, bounced or blocked | Nothing. Correct behaviour |
| Recent bounce | Bounced in the last 30 days | Check for a typo in the address |
| Daily limit | Already had two today, from any of your campaigns or a trigger | Consider starting tomorrow, or check what else is sending |
#The overlap pop-up
If contacts you add are already in another active or paused drip, a pop-up shows how many there are and which campaigns they are in. Choose Enroll in both (selected by default), Move here or Skip; one choice applies to every contact listed. Contacts whose other campaign has no overlapping emails left join straight away. See Contacts in more than one campaign.
#When to stop and fix something
- Most of your audience is skipped, check the skip reasons and the Capped today list.
- A high bounce count before you have sent anything, your list needs cleaning first, or you risk auto-pause.
- "Will receive" is far lower than you expected and you cannot see why, check Why an email did not send before starting.
